To being with the obvious- dream walking. Since she's a witch, Azela can use spells and trances to enter people's dreams.

Personality:
Azela is quite happy and bright. She doesn't get depressed easily, the only time being when a young Manes asked about his dad. She laughs a lot and likes teasing people, whether she knows them well or not. She makes sure that the person knows that she is joking around though! She prefers to not hold grudges and make up with people, hence taking the job at Scream Academy.
She's often seen in the Tien common room, the café or deep in the forests of the Game World, wearing her little pink dress and white pumps.

Background:
She had a happy upbringing all her life. Her two parents loved and supported her no matter what she did wrong. The family was extremely close; Azela, her mother, her father, and her older sister. She had extended family that she was close to as well.
After Azela had Manes, she went to live with her parents once more, having moved out thirty years before. The helped her raise the boy until he was eight, then Azela was able to get a small, two bedroom house, making enough money to support them both without her parents' help. The two still remained very close to the grandparents, even as they moved to the Game World.

Reason for joining Academy:
Her first reason to join was to keep an eye on Manes. She had heard about Sky's twins, and feared that her son would hold a grudge against them for something that they can't help - being Sky's other children. When she saw that he was okay with them (even getting along with Dizzy amazingly), she set about to do what she wanted to do, which was make up with Sky. She still has yet to talk to him properly, since they are in different dorms and they both have classes to plan.

Additional info:
Like her son, she is seen without shoes, wandering the Academy. Unlike him though, she is more often seen with white pumps.
She is fascinated with dreams. The mind is a delicate thing, and so it always interested her to go into the mind. As the most vulnerable time is when the brain is asleep, she threw herself into research of the subject before Manes was born. She didn't forget her studies though; as Manes was growing up, she would visit his dreams to make sure he didn't have nightmares.
She is extremely arty, although she never did anything with the talent.
She looks practically nothing like her son, so much so that sometimes people ask if he's adopted. They only share the same eyes; every detail of them are identical.
Her mother's surname is Levesa, and her father's is Manners. Since neither of them took the other's name when they married, Azela had both names. Needless to say, her mother is Portuguese , and her father is British, even though he was raised in Portugal.
